Power to the rails was shut down after a woman was reported to be wandering on the trackway. The station agent attempted talking her back onto the platform but the subject refused, eventually winding up on a Fremont train which allowed her to board. The train and subject, who was reportedly highly agitated, was intercepted at El Cerrito Plaza Station where she was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
An adult male was arrested and booked for an attempted automobile burglary and possession of burglar tools after a witness saw him break a window of a truck. The suspect, who was taken into custody by El Cerrito P.D., was positively identified by the witness.
Officers who were investigating a report of a suspect who was removing parts from bicycles at the station detained an adult male suspect. During the detention it was discovered that the suspect was in possession of a large quantity of suspected narcotics. During a search incident to the suspect's arrest, even more suspected narcotics were discovered. The suspect was booked for illegal possession of narcotics.
A witness to a battery that was committed against a bus driver over a month ago spotted the suspect at the station. The suspect was detained and identified pending an on-going investigation.
A Golden Gate Transit bus driver reported that a belligerent adult male suspect was refusing to exit his bus. A sergeant boarded the bus and asked the suspect to off board. The suspect kicked the sergeant and violently resisted arrest. The suspect was arrested, booked and a parole hold was placed on him.
An adult female was the victim of a battery when her estranged husband showed up at the station and slapped her several times. The suspect, who has a restraining order filed against him by his wife, fled the scene prior to the arrival of responding officers.
An adult female reported that her husband had battered her and threatened her life if she reported the crime. The battery occurred in the city of San Pablo and the threats occurred at the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station. The suspect was located at the station and arrested for domestic violence and a temporary restraining order was issued to protect the victim.
A Vallejo Transit bus driver reported seeing a juvenile female at the station, whom he recently saw on a runaway juvenile flier. An officer detained the 16 year old, who had a 'no cite,' Solano County Juvenile Court felony theft warrant outstanding. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall in Martinez.
A witness reported seeing an adult male cut the lock, and take money from a newspaper stand in the free area. Officers later detained the male, who was subsequently identified by the witness. A warrant check revealed the male had a prior conviction for petty theft. The subject was arrested for petty theft with a prior, and for possesiion of burglary tools. Booked at Martinez Jail.
Officers responded to a report of two subjects fighting at the fare gates. Two suspects were detained with one eventually held for psychiatric observation and the other arrested and booked on over $100,000 in warrants charging battery and domestic violence out of Alameda and Santa Clara Counties.
Officers responding to a reported fight at the bus stop found that an adult male had actually been robbed by a gang of up to twelve subjects. The victim was beaten and robbed of some twenty cans of beer he had in his possession. The victim suffered facial injuries but declined treatment.
A 49-year-old man reported being robbed of cash and a cell phone, at gunpoint, in the bus zone. The suspects were two 16-year-old males. One suspect pointed what was later determined to be a bb gun at the victim, while the other suspect acted as a lookout. BART police officers arrested the suspects and recovered the victim's property. The suspects were booked at juvenile hall for robbery.
A verbal altercation between a station agent and a patron turned physical when the patron grabbed at the station agent, tearing the latter's shirt. The suspect was apprehended at the scene and booked for battery against the agent.
An anonymous patron reported seeing a male take a purse from a woman while the woman was asleep on a Richmond bound train approaching the El Cerrito Del Norte station. The male then off-boarded the train at El Cerrito Del Norte, and boarded a bus. Officers responded to the scene and detained the male, who was still in possession of some of the victim's property. An adult female patron walked from the station to her vehicle, parked in the lot. As she opened the vehicle door, she felt someone press a sharp metallic object to the back of her neck. An adult male told her to place her purse behind her back. The victim complied, turned around and saw the suspect running with her purse, toward the Target store. The victim reported the crime about 30 minutes after it occurred, and the suspect was GOA/UTL.
A male juvenile contacted for a possible narcotics violation was subsequently arrested and booked into juvenile hall on the above-noted charges after he attempted to escape while handcuffed and bit an officer who was physically attempting to control him. The subject was also arrested for an outstanding felony warrant out of juvenile court.
A female patron reported that her cell phone was snatched from her person by a male in his mid to late teens. The suspect fled on foot towards Cutting Blvd. Loss was a Motorola "Sidekick" cell phone valued at $400.00
An officer observed a 17 year old male shoving a bulky object into his pants pocket. As two officers approached him, the juvenile tried fleeing but was detained by the officers. The concealed object was a loaded .357 cal revolver, which the officers recovered. The firearm had been reported stolen by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. The juvenile was also on narcotics probation, in possession of falsified identification and was booked at Juvenile Hall.
An adult male was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects on the pedestrian pathway adjacent to the station. One of the suspects was brandishing a handgun during the commission of the robbery. A shot was fired at the direction of the victim as he was walking away from the suspects but no one was hit. The alleged gunman was taken into custody by a sergeant at the scene, while a second suspect was able to escape after a foot pursuit and a subsequent search. The third suspect fled undetected.
A female patron was sexually groped from behind as she attempted to use a public phone in the station. The suspect, described as a male in his 20's to early 30's, large build, wearing a backpack, work boots, and having very little or close cropped hair, fled on a bicycle.
