A patron reported being struck by a vehicle (possibly a yellow cab) while crossing the street between the parking structure and station agent’s booth. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene. The subject did not complain of pain, but was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Richmond as a precaution. Detectives were notified and the investigation is on-going at this time.
A warrant check on a subject detained for fare evasion revealed an outstanding $2,500 no-cite warrant out of Solano County for narcotics possession. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant. 1204-1485 L12.
An officer made contact with an adult male suspect after the officer watched him fare evade out of the paid area via the elevator. The male initially lied about his name, but was eventually identified and found to be on probation out of Alameda County for narcotics violations. The suspect did not have a search clause, but consented to a voluntary search of his person. The search revealed two small bags of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The male was then taken into custody for possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation charge. The suspect was cited for the original fare evasion charge. The Narcotics Task Force was notified of the arrest. The detective unit was tied up on a parole search at the time of the arrest, so the zone sergeant debriefed the suspect regarding his knowledge of BART related crimes before the suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for the above listed charges.
An officer detained a male suspect for panhandling at the ticket vendors. Record checks showed the male was on probation, so the officer conducted a probation search. A small amount of suspected cocaine was located in the suspect's pocket. The male was arrested and booked at Martinez Jail for possession of narcotics.
A female victim reported that a male suspect (WM, 25 yrs, with curly brown hair) grabbed her iPhone from her hand while she was at the ticket machines. The male suspect was last seen fleeing on foot toward the parking structure. An area check for the suspect was negative. The phone was not turned on and therefore, not able to be tracked. The victim was not injured and does not believe she would be able to recognize the suspect.
Officers responded to the station to investigate a report of a male who was yelling that he had been robbed by a man with a gun. The victim was reported to have run upstairs at the station chasing another man towards the train that was at the station. On arrival, the officers searched the station and train but did not locate the suspect or a victim. The El Cerrito Police Department also responded and then recieved information that the original crime occurred in their city as the result of a Craigslist robbery. The victim was finally located a short distance from the station where he reported that the suspect had fled into a local business. BART officers assisted the El Cerrito Police Department with searching for the suspects, but they were not located. The suspects were described as a WM, 16-17 years old, wearing a white shirt and black pants and a MW, 16-20 years old, 6', 180 pounds wearing a black jacket, black pants and carrying a black backpack. TSOC notified.
A patron reported to an officer via telephone that her silver 2002 Acura Integra had been burglarized while it was parked and locked in parking lot structure stall #1413 on 3/22/12 between 0810-1630 hours. The losses were both head lights, the turn signals, a Kenwood stereo, an iPod, and two subwoofers. The driver door was damaged and the glove box lock was broken. 1203-3118 L12.
A BART Officer contacted a suspect for fare evasion at the El Cerrito del Norte Station. The Officer determined the suspect had a no bail felony warrant for grand theft from San Francisco. The suspect was cited for fare evasion and was taken into custody for the warrant and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Officer were conducting fare evasion enforcement at the station and stopped a male suspectfor the crime. Upon a records check, the subject was on probation with a full-search clause. An officer conducted a search of the suspect’s person and located a piece of rock cocaine inside a cigarette pack. The suspect was arrested for possession of the narcotic and relocated to the police facility for processing. The suspect was ultimately arrested and booked for possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation and cited on the original fare evasion contact.
A BART Officer responded to a victim at Del Norte Station who reported his vehicle was missing from stall 4134. The victim stated he parked his 1995 Acura Integra, 3MUV380 at 0830 hours. When he returned at 1755 hours the vehicle was missing. There are no known leads at this time. 1202-4134 L21.
A patron flagged down an officer to report that his vehicle had been entered on 2/22 between 0800-1700 hours. He had parked his green 1998 Acura Integra, 4WZN450, on the top level of the parking structure. When he returned to it, he noticed that the driver's door was unlocked. He checked to see why the alarm had not activated and discovered that the suspect had disabled the alarm. The victim said nothing was missing from the vehicle. The vehicle was processed for evidence by the officer.
A station agent called to report that she had been pushed by a male suspect while in the platform elevator. The agent was riding the elevator up to the platform with the suspect when she asked him if he had processed his ticket. The suspect became irate and began cursing at the agent. The suspect then pushed the agent while in the elevator. When they exited the elevator, both went down to the agent's booth and the agent told her partner to call for police assistance. The male then left the area by fleeing across San Pablo Avenue. Responding officers located a male matching the description near Cutting Blvd/San Pablo Avenue. The zone sergeant transported the station agent to the detained person for an in-field identification. The agent identified him as the responsible party and placed him under citizen's arrest for Battery on a Transit Employee. The male was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for the charge and for being intoxicated in public. The agent was not physically injured.
A patron reported that his 2004 white Ford F150 truck was burglarized while it was parked and lock in the north parking lot on 2/21/12 between 0730-1700 hours. There was no loss, but the ignition and the driver door lock were damaged. The scene was processed for evidence and photographs of the vehicle were taken. 1202-3000 L12.
Officer responded to the station on a patron reporting their vehicle was burglarized. The patron parked their vehicle on the first-level of the parking structure on 01/28/2012 and returned 02/06/2012 at 0659 hrs. According to responding officers, the victim vehicle was a 2008 Ford F250 P/U and entry was made via a shaved key or other tool in the door-lock. The victim vehicle ignition switch was damaged and it appears unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal the vehicle. The only property loss was a flashlight. The vehicle owner refused to let officers dust the vehicle for latent fingerprints, but did allow them to video tape the vehicle and damage to the ignition switch.
An officer contacted a male suspect for fare evasion. Upon a records check, the suspect had a no bail, felony warrant for probation violation and burglary out of Solano County SO. The suspect was arrested and booked on the arrest warrant, and cited for fare evasion.
A male suspect detained for aggressive panhandling at the station was found to have an outstanding, no-cite arrest warrant for probation violation issued by Contra Costa County. The man was arrested on his warrant and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
An aggressive, male panhandling suspect was verbally harassing a male patron and his family. Words were exchanged and the suspect aggressively pushed the male and took a then tried to hit him before fleeing from the station toward San Pablo Blvd. Officers were nearby and eventually located the suspect near the Home Depot store. The suspect was detained and positively identified. The suspect was arrested and booked for battery upon a patron. The suspect has numerous prior BART contacts/detentions/arrests.
A patron reported that his vehicle was parked on the second floor of the parking garage in space 526 between 7:24 and 17:30. During that time, an unknown suspect punched the driver's side door lock with a pry tool, entered the vehicle and tampered with the ignition in an apparent attempt to steal the vehicle. The victim vehicle is a 2003 Ford F-150.
A patron reported that his vehicle was parked on the first floor of the parking garage in space 223 between 5:45 and 16:20. During that time, an unknown suspect punched the driver's side door lock with a pry tool, entered the vehicle and tampered with the ignition in an apparent attempt to steal the vehicle. The victim vehicle is a 2001 Ford Explorer.
An officer contacted a male suspect for fare evasion. Upon a records check, the suspect had an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence. The suspect was arrested and booked on the warrant, and cited for the fare evasion violation.
