A male victim reported that yesterday, at 1930 hours, he was in the parking structure going up the stairs when he was confronted by a suspect wearing dark clothes. The suspect pushed the victim down to the ground and demanded his money. The victim gave the suspect $40 in cash and the suspect fled down the stairs. The victim stated he did not need medical attention but that he suffered from pain to his hand and his knees when he fell to the ground.
Officers responded to the Daly City Station for a report of a theft at the station. Officers detained a male who was in possession of stolen property and a records check revealed the male had a warrant for his arrest. The male was placed under arrest and was booked at the San Francisco County Jail.
A victim reported that their black Honda Accord was burglarized while parked in the station’s St. Charles lot, stall 2082, between 0800 and 1750 hours. The vehicle’s rear passenger side window was smashed to gain entry and miscellaneous papers were taken. An officer responded, processed the vehicle for fingerprints and completed a report.
Patrons on board the Pittsburg bound train reported that a male suspect was masturbating on board. The reporting party left the train at South San Francisco Station, but the suspect remained on board. Officers intercepted the train at Daly City Station and located the suspect on board. No other victims came forward. Record checks showed that the suspect had an outstanding $30,000 arrest warrant for larceny, held by SFPD. The man was booked at the SF County Jail for his warrant.
An officer responded to the platform regarding a male suspect threatening a BART employee, brandishing a knife and pounding on a terminal zone window with his hands. The officer managed to safely detain the suspect as an assisting officer and sergeant responded as well. Further investigation determined that the suspect, who was upset after claiming to have left personal property aboard a train, threatened to batter a train operator while also brandishing a knife. During this time, a second BART employee approached the terminal zone office and the suspect threatened this employee as well, while also brandishing the knife and then battering the (second) employee with a backpack. The suspect was placed under arrest for criminal threats, brandishing a weapon, battery and issued a BART prohibition order. He was then booked into the county jail. The BART employees were not injured during this incident. Platform video was requested, and the sergeant performed a use of force investigation.
A victim reported that their black 2005 GMC Yukon was burglarized while parked on the 2nd level of the station’s parking structure between 1530 hours on 1/7/15 and 0440 hours on 1/8/16. The vehicle's driver’s door lock was punched/defeated to gain entry, and the following items were taken: one Audiovox brand CD player/ceiling mounted monitor valued at $1000.00. An officer completed a report.
The station agent called to report a male loitering in the elevator. A sergeant contacted the male and determined that he is on probation with a condition to stay away from all BART stations. He also had a $10,000 warrant for altering fare media. The male was booked into the Redwood City Jail for the court order violation and the warrant.
An officer responded to a report of a male suspect threatening to beat up another patron at the bus stop. It was later reported that the suspect chased the victim as well and at one point simulated a weapon by putting his hand in his pocket. The officer arrived, detained the suspect and placed him under arrest for making criminal threats. The suspect was booked into the Redwood City Jail for criminal threats. He was also issued a Prohibition Order.
San Mateo PD called the ISRC and requested for trains to be searched for a murder suspect they were looking for. San Mateo PD further advised that one of their officers was pinging the suspects cell phone and that it indicated that the ping was coming from the Colma Station. An earlier ping showed that the suspect may have been at the SFO Station. A simultaneous search was conducted of multiple trains holding at the Daly City and Colma Stations by BART and allied agencies. The officers were unable to locate the suspect in question. Trains were held so that the officers could await cover and search them.
A victim reported their 2008 grey Nissan Altima was burglarized while parked in the St. Charles lot, stall 2159, between 0800 and 1800 hours. The vehicle was entered by way of a driver’s door window smash, but not items were taken. The victim declined to allow the investigating officer to process the vehicle for fingerprints.
Patrons reported a male behaving erratically in middle of the station access road. An officer attempted to contact the man to check on his welfare, as he appeared to be under the influence or mentally unstable, but the man fled on foot. He was eventually detained with the help of Daly City PD officers. Officers determined the man was in need of emergency psychiatric detention. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
A female reported that a male suspect (BM, 50's, 5'8", heavy set, black coat) tackled her while she was in the passenger pick up area between 0730-0800 hours and tried to take her bag. She managed to retain the bag and the suspect left the area. She sought her own medical attention and called to make the report from the hospital. The investigating officer will request station video.
A victim reported the theft of their black 2003 Toyota Tundra’s catalytic converter while the truck was parked in the St. Charles lot, between 0900 and 2145 hours. An officer responded and completed a report.
An officer was dispatched to check on two teens possibly engaged in narcotics activity in the lower level of the parking structure. He contacted a male and a female and a records check revealed a no bail juvenile warrant for the female. The female was also in possession of marijuana. The female was booked into the San Mateo County Juvenile Hall for the warrant and cited for possession of marijuana.
A patron on board a Daly City bound train, reported a suspect, described as a Black male in his 40's, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and unknown colored sweatpants, who appeared to be intoxicated. The train was held at the Daly City Station where an officer located the suspect. The officer determined the suspect was too intoxicated to care for himself and placed him under arrest. The suspect was subsequently booked into the SF County Jail for public intoxication. A sergeant approved the arrest.
As of 2310 hours, 13 vehicles were found burglarized at the Daly City Station, between 0730 to 1748 hours. 12 vehicles were parked on the top level of the parking structure and 1 vehicle was located on the first level of the parking structure. A victim called to report that his rear window was smashed while parked on the second level of the parking structure between 0100-0630 hours. The suspect did not enter the vehicle, but reached in and took a small bag of toiletries.
A victim reported that their vehicle was burglarized while parked on the first level of the parking structure between 0800-1845 hours on 10/21. It is unknown how entry was made (no damage), but $50 cash, a Great America season pass and a make-up kit were taken.
A victim reported that their 2005 Acura TSX was burglarized while parked in the second level of the parking structure between 1015 to 1740 hours. As a result of the burglary, the victim reported the loss of $200 worth of clothing. The investigating officer was unable to determine the method of entry, but processed the vehicle for fingerprints and completed a report.
A patron reported that their white 1997 Toyota Avalon was burglarized while parked on the top level of the parking structure, between 1230-2300 hours. An unknown suspect gained entry by smashing the passenger window and stole the in-dash stereo.
A BART employee reported that their Ford work van was burglarized while parked on the 2nd level of the parking structure, between 1530-2030 hours. An unknown suspect gained entry by prying the passenger door lock. The suspect stole tools and a BART portable radio.
A victim reported that they parked and locked their1999 Honda Accord in stall 3046 today, at 0638 hours. They returned 1608 hours to find their driver’s side door tampered with and vehicle burglarized. The victim did not wish to have their vehicle processed for evidence.
