Both the officer and suspect sustained minor scrapes during the struggle. Both were treated and released on scene. The victim identified the suspect and placed him under citizen's arrest for battery. The suspect was also found to be in possession of a crack pipe. He was issued a prohibition order and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for battery, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Eventually the two officers were able to detain both suspects and determined that they were both intoxicated in public. The male was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for public intoxication and the female was also booked for public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on an officer.
