The officer contacted the male and tried to determine if one of the vehicles was his. The male claimed that the one with no plates belonged to him. The vehicle also had altered VIN plates, so the officer was unable to determine the status of the vehicle. A search of the male revealed shaved keys and VIN plates in his possession. Detectives were notified of the detention. Eventually, with the help of a tow truck, the officer was able to find an intact VIN and determined that the vehicle was not reported as stolen, but no owner information was immediately available without contacting DMV. After conferring with a detective, the male was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail for being in possession of burglary tools and the vehicle was towed incident to the arrest.
