The on-duty station agent reported that a male and female were involved in a heated argument on the platform. The agent witnessed the male hitting the female via the platform video camera. Officers detained the male on the platform. The victim was uncooperative and was not injured. Officers determined that the male and female were married. The male was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and was booked at Santa Rita Jail. The female refused an EPO and all domestic violence assistance that was offered.
A patron reported via phone that their unknown make/model silver mountain bike was stolen from the racks between 1315-1445 hours today. The victim secured the bike with a cable lock. The victim valued the loss at $80.
The victim parked her 2011 Nissan Armada in the northeast lot in stall # 69 between the hours of 0730-1800, today. When she returned, she found the right rear passenger window of her vehicle smashed out and $2 dollars in candy missing from her vehicle. The suspect(s) apparently used a large metal object to smash out the window. The suspect(s) also left a screwdriver inside the vehicle after making entry. The vehicle was processed, but no prints were located. The metal object and screwdriver were recovered as evidence.
A male suspect fare evaded thru the emergency gate to exit the Castro Valley Station. Officers stopped the male in the bus zone and a records/warrant check showed the male had a $7,500 warrant for theft issued by Pacifica PD. The agent responded to the station and placed the male under citizen's arrest. The male was cited on the fare evasion and was booked on the warrant at Santa Rita Jail. The arrest was approved by an OIC.
Officers responded to the station on the report of a female victim chasing an adult male suspect who had taken an iPhone from her hands while aboard a Dublin bound train. As BART officers responded, Alameda County Sheriff’s Deputies managed to detain two individuals possibly involved in the theft. The victim, however, was unable to definitively identify either one of the subjects as the responsible(s) in the theft; the subjects were then released. An area search for the suspect, who is described as a Black male in his twenties and wearing a blue flannel shirt and blue hat, ended with negative results. The victim was not injured during the theft. The investigating officer requested train/station video.
Officers and a sergeant were dispatched to a report of two suspicious male subjects in the lot who were possibly attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle. The suspects were reportedly in a champagne colored van that was parked next to the victim vehicle. The sergeant located the vehicle and was able to detain the subjects inside. All three suspects were found to be on probation for theft related charges out of Alameda County with search clauses attached to each. A search of the van yielded methamphetamines located under the rear passenger seat where the female was lying as well as suspected burglary tools. A victim vehicle was located and it was determined that the suspects attempted to cut off the catalytic converter but were unable to complete the act. An officer was able to locate the reporting party who later positively identified the subjects as the same ones he saw trying to steal the catalytic converter. Detectives responded to interview the suspects. CAP Team officers and the sergeant conducted a probation search of two of the arrestee’s residence which yielded negative results. The third arrestee was determined to be transient and did not have a current address. The two male suspects are to be booked into the Santa Rita Jail for attempt grand theft, possession of burglary tools, and probation violation after their interview with detectives. The female suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for possession of meth and probation violation.
A victim reported his 1996 red BMW Z3 was burglarized while it was parked and locked in stall #305. Entry was made via the vehicle window, and a $100.00 Garmin GPS was taken from inside the vehicle. The scene was processed for evidence.
A victim reported having a white iPhone snatched from his hand while on the train. The victim chased the suspect as they off boarded the train and out of the station, but lost sight of the suspect near Redwood and Wilbeam Roads. The there were no injuries, and the victim can identify the suspect. Officers checked the area for the suspect with negative results. Video hotline notified.
A victim made a telephone report that his $200.00 black and yellow GNC Denali road bicycle was stolen while it was cable locked at the bike racks between 0630-1830 hours. Video hotline notified.
A female victim parked her grey 1998 Honda Civic 4 door (5KED957) in stall #311 of the Castro Valley Station at 0640 hours. When she returned at 1720 hours, she discovered her Honda was stolen. The Honda had both plates and an officer is investigating.
A sergeant conducted a welfare check on a man who had been disturbing others on a train and in the station. The man, who had been wearing a pair of plaid shorts on his head, was invading passengers’ personal space while “exercising” and doing flips. The man was found to have two $50,000 San Francisco misdemeanor warrants. One warrant was for burglary, and the other was for theft. The suspect was arrested on the warrants, debriefed by the sergeant, and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
Officers received a report that a man was talking to himself and cursing loudly aboard a San Francisco train. The officers located the suspect based upon his description and initiated a welfare check. While talking to the officers, the man pulled a BART ticket out of his pocket. In the process, several pieces of suspected rock cocaine fell out of his pocket and onto the ground. A search of the suspect revealed methadone and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested for possession of the controlled substances and for possession of drug paraphernalia. A sergeant approved the arrest and debriefed the suspect. The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
A man was robbed of his iPhone on the parking lot access road. Two males wearing dark-hooded sweatshirts (no further descriptions) struck the victim and fled northbound on Wilbeam Ave. with the victim’s property. The victim sustained cuts to his eye and lip, and may have received a concussion. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
A victim reported the burglary of his green 2000 Honda Civic, which was parked in stall 641, between 0820 and 1915 hours. The vehicle’s door lock was defeated in order to gain entry, and the loss was a Sony-Brand CD player worth $200. The victim declined to have his vehicle processed for evidence.
The station agent reported that a female suspect had just evaded fare to exit. The suspect was described as a black female, about 30 years old, 5'3" tall, with a ponytail, wearing a black top and multi-colored tights. An officer located a female in the bus zone who matched the suspect description and detained her. The agent made a positive identification and citizen's arrest for fare evasion. While the suspect was looking for identification, the officer noticed that the ticket in her hands had been altered by adding a portion of a magnetic strip. The officer arrested the woman for possession of altered fare media and incident to arrest, located scissors and a glue stick on the woman's person. The woman claimed she was given the ticket by her boyfriend. Detectives were contacted. The woman was ultimately issued a citation for possession of altered fare media and fare evasion.
A woman reported that two catalytic converters had been stolen from beneath her 2006 Toyota Sequoia vehicle today between 0820-1800 hrs. The vehicle was parked in stall #355, in the north-east lot.
