A victim reported that they parked their vehicle (a 1999 Infinity) in the lot today at 1830 hours. The victim returned at 2130 hours and found their vehicle gone.

A patron reported an intoxicated male at the station. An officer contacted the male and determined that he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for public intoxication.
The victim used a cable lock to secure the bike at 0622 hours and returned at 1745 hours and discovered the bike stolen. It was described as a red one speed commuter bike.
An officer contacted an adult male for fare evasion. The male ran from the officer and out of the station. Two sergeants, who were responding for cover, located the male and tried to detain him, but he ran from them. They were able to catch up to him and had to physically force him to the ground. The male, who was not injured, was eventually booked into the Santa Rita Jail for resisting arrest.
A victim reported the theft of their green and black bike (unknown brand) from the bike racks. The bike was secured with a cable lock on 5/19 at 1900 hours and when the victim returned at 0900 hours on 5/30, the bike and lock were gone.
A patron made a late report for the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle that had been parked at the Castro Valley Station. The crime occurred on Friday, 5/13/16 between 07:20 and 17:30 and the victim vehicle was a 2006 Honda Element that had been parked in space #607.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office requested that our officers respond to take over a domestic violence investigation. ACSO deputies had been passing trough the parking lot about 30 minutes before and had found a female victim on the ground, suffering from injuries to her face. The suspect was her former boyfriend, who had left the area. ACSO deputies attempted to contact the suspect at his residence, but he fled in a vehicle. ACSO pursued the suspect, but had to terminate the pursuit in the interests of public safety. The victim declined an EPO. The case will be forwarded to detectives for follow up.
A patron called in a male sleeping on the train with a kitchen knife in his lap. Officers contacted the male and recovered the knife without incident. A records check revealed a $50,000 warrant for burglary. The male was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for the warrant.
A patron reported that their tan 2003 Ford F350 truck was stolen between 1530-0030 hours.
A victim reported the theft of their green Cannondale brand bicycle, valued at $2,400.00, while it was cable locked at the station on 3/2/16, between 0910 and 1940 hours. An officer contacted the victim and completed a report.
A Good Samaritan performed CPR upon an adult male who, according to witnesses, suddenly collapsed while on the platform. A sergeant and an officer responded, as did fire and paramedic personnel. Medical personnel continued life-saving efforts and transported the male to a nearby hospital where he eventually passed away. Based upon witness statements, no foul play is suspected.
Officers detained a female and a male while investigating an earlier report of a domestic violence incident. During the investigation, officers learned the couple was in a dating relationship and that the female had earlier battered the male, which caused him minor/visible injuries; he refused medical assistance. The officers then placed the female under arrest for domestic violence, and she was eventually booked into the county jail.
A resident called in to report a male suspect who broke into a vehicle in the parking lot. The resident was able to give the direction of flight as the suspect left the area on foot. An Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy located a male matching the description walking nearby and detained him. The male was found to have a $10,000 warrant for auto theft and to be in possession of a screwdriver and drill bit. The reporting party identified him as the responsible person and said that she saw him in the victim vehicle. The victim vehicle, which had a broken window and had been ransacked, was processed for evidence. The suspect declined to give a statement. He was booked into the Santa Rita Jail for auto burglary, possession of burglary tools and the warrant.
A victim reported that their silver colored 2014 Honda CRV was burglarized while parked in the station’s west lot, stall 1053, between 0750 and 1825 hours. The vehicle’s front passenger window was smashed to gain entry and the vehicle’s manuals, a credit card and $10.00 were taken. The investigating officer processed the vehicle for fingerprints and completed a report.
A victim reported, via telephone report, the theft of their 2002 Acura TL’s catalytic converter while the vehicle was parked in the reserve lot between 0745 and 1800 hours on 1/4/16. An officer contacted the victim and completed a report.
A victim reported the theft of their maroon 1999 Honda Accord’s catalytic converter while the vehicle was parked in stall 357, between 0805 to 1800 hours. An officer responded and completed a report.
At 0418 hours, Dispatch received a call from a patron reporting a subject was sleeping in front of the Castro Valley Station and he was not responsive. An officer arrived on scene and advised the male was not breathing at 0423 hours. Medics were requested to respond to the station (code 3) and arrived at 0427 hours. ALCO Fire Unit #25 responded to the station as well. The male was declared deceased at 0454 hours. No foul play is suspected at this time. The on call detective was notified. The coroner was notified at 0454 hours. The male's identity is unknown at this time. The case is under investigation.
A patron reported a male was threatening another patron aboard a Daly Vity bound train. Officers intercepted the train at Castro Valley and removed the suspect from the train. The victim did not want to place the suspect under arrest. A records check showed the suspect had a court order restricting him from being on BART. The suspect was placed under arrest for violation of a court order and was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
Patrons on board a Dublin bound train reported that a group of black males were attacking a lone Asian male victim. The group of four suspects fled on foot when the train arrived as Castro Valley Station, with several patrons in pursuit. The suspects scattered in four directions when they exited the station. Responding officers detained two of the four suspects. Independent witnesses reported that the two detainees punched and pushed the victim to the floor while the two suspects who escaped stole the victim's cell phone. The phone was not recovered. The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his face, but declined medical attention. Both detainees were juveniles. One suffered an asthma attack after being arrested and was cited for robbery and released to his mother. The other suspect was booked at the Alameda County Juvenile Hall for robbery. Both suspects were issued prohibition orders.
#Update: A victim arrived at a local hospital and they sustained a non-life threatening wound to the leg. Additional shell casings were found in the parking lot, just in front of the BART Police sub-station. ACSO continued the preliminary investigation in this case and will follow-up with BART detectives. ACSO case # 15-20374
A community service officer observed two males “casing” vehicles in the parking lot, and provided their descriptions to officers. A sergeant arrived in the area and managed to detain one of the males, a juvenile, without incident. An area search for the second male and any burglarized vehicles ended unsuccessfully. A wants/warrants check of the detained male revealed an outstanding “no bail” juvenile warrant, held by the Alameda County Juvenile Probation Department, for his arrest. The male was then placed under arrest for the warrant and eventually booked into the county’s juvenile detention center.
