A victim was standing on the platform at the Bayfair Station when a suspect ran up and snatched the victim's phone from his hand. The suspect fled on foot with the loss and jumped on a train before the victim could follow. Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate the suspect or the phone. The suspect was described as a black male, 30-40 years old, 6 feet tall, medium build, with a short fade style haircut, stubbly beard, wearing a baggy black hoody, baggy blue jeans and red tennis shoes.
A male victim reported that three Black males (20's, gray clothing) struck him in the mouth with a closed fist and stole his necklace and ring in the bus zone at the Bay Fair Station. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
Officers responded to the Bay Fair Station to investigate a report of a male that was drunk and belligerent on a Warm Springs train. Officers contacted Nicholas Kimmons (36 years old, Sacramento) and determined he had been drinking and was unable to care for himself. Kimmons attempted to spit at the officers. He also made threatened the officers. Kimmons was taken into custody, issued a Prohibition Order and booked at the Santa Rita Jail. 1708-2264 L24.
Victim reported a burglary to their vehicle while it was parked in the west parking lot at the station. The burglary occurred between (8/26/2017) 1400 hours and (8/27/2017) 0030 hours. Entry was made via front passenger window smash and loss was paperwork.
A male was reported to be under a train at the Bay Fair Station. BART Police, Fire and emergency medical units responded to the station but the male was declared deceased. The Alameda County Coroner responded and took custody of the deceased. The case is under investigation and notification to the next of kin is pending.
A patron reported an unsubscribed person breaking into a vehicle in the lot. A CSO located a vehicle with a smashed window. The victim returned and said that a makeup bag was taken, but it was recovered on the ground nearby. No suspects were located.
A male suspect (Eric Blackmon, 30 years, Hayward) battered a passenger after the passenger refused to give him money, due to aggressive panhandling. Blackmon fled but an officer located him and he was detained. The victim identified Blackmon and placed him under citizen's arrest for aggressive panhandling and for Battery on a transit passenger. The officer violated Blackmon's probation and he was booked into Santa Rita Jail. Blackmon was issued a prohibition order.
A sergeant and five officers conducted directed fare evasion enforcement at the Bay Fair Station from 1100-2100 hours that resulted in 27 people being stopped, 25 citation issued, 1 warning cite and 1 completed field interview card.
A Sergeant detained the suspect (Warren, Marcus 56, Hayward) for fare evasion. A records check revealed a valid stay away order from all BART stations. The suspect was placed under arrest for the court order violation and booked into the Santa Rita Jail. The suspect was also cited for fare evasion.
A male victim was seated on a train when a male suspect (BM, late 30s, 6', muscular, grey shirt, tan shorts, black shoes) hit him in the head with an unknown metal object. The suspect also punched and kicked the victim before fleeing the train and running out of the station. According to the victim and witnesses, the attack was unprovoked. The suspect was not located. The victim was treated for a laceration to his head and transported to the hospital via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Two suspects attempted to rob a female victim of her cell phone in the east parking lot. The suspects brandished a BB gun and attempted to take the phone. The victim was knocked down, but retained possession of her phone. The suspects fled into the surrounding area and were not located.
A victim reported their silver 2000 Acura Integra was burglarized while parked at the Bay Fair Station. The vehicle was found unlocked and the interior was searched. Loss was an auto battery and a sub-woofer speaker.
The on-duty station agent called to report a male subject had attempted to batter him by swinging at him. Officers contacted the subject and a records check revealed the subject to be on probation out of Alameda County with a condition to stay away from BART. The subject was taken into custody and booked into Santa Rita jail. The station agent declined to press charges for the assault.
A male victim reported that he was punched and kicked by 3-4 male suspects (BMs, late teens, hoodies, no further description) while on the train. They then took his iPhone and lap top computer before running out of the train and out of the station. The suspects were not located. The victim was transported to the hospital via ambulance for treatment of facial cuts and swelling.
A victim reported that their vehicle was burglarized while parked at the station between 1140-1950 hours. The passenger window was smashed to gain entry and a GPS unit, handicap placard, coat and checkbook were taken.
The female (juvenile) victim reported that a male (juvenile) suspect known to her forcibly took her iPhone and fled from the station. A sergeant and an officer responded, but were unable to readily locate the suspect. An attempt to track the phone was also unsuccessful. Further follow up investigation will be performed by the officer.
