A male patron walking to his car in the west lot was accosted by 4 suspects who demanded his property. He tried to get away from them, but they chased him to the tunnel stairway, where they scuffled with him, pushed him down and took his backpack. They fled on foot and the victim reported the crime to the station agent. Responding officers conducted an extensive search of a nearby neighborhood and through observations and canvassing of witnesses, three of the four suspects were located, positively identified and taken into custody.
Three male juveniles were arrested after committing a strongarm robbery on three juvenile victims at the station. One suspect was taken into custody by a responding BPD officer while the other two, who managed to flee, were later apprehended by officers from the San Leandro PD and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. Property taken during the robbery was recovered on the suspects.
A lone male victim was walking through the pedestrian tunnel when he was confronted by three male suspects. One suspect punched the victim's nose, possibly fracturing it. The suspects took the victim's cell phone and other property and fled toward Hesperian Boulevard. The victim was transported to San Leandro Hospital for treatment. The suspects were GOA/UTL.
A routine traffic stop developed into a short vehicle pursuit when the driver failed to yield. The driver abandoned the car and fled into the yards in a nearby residential area. The suspect, described as an adult male, 19-20 yrs. of age, wearing a light multi-colored outfit, remains outstanding. The vehicle is a possible unreported stolen auto (dashboard ripped out).
An adult male patron was attacked and robbed in the bus zone by three juvenile males. They beat him, took his wallet and cash then fled the area on foot. A language barrier prevented the officers from obtaining critical information in time about the crime and the suspects, and they were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
A fare evasion suspect pulled away from an officer's grasp, ran from the station and hid in a nearby ravine. The officer located the suspect, whose pockets were found turned inside out, arrested and booked him.
A wheelchair bound victim was robbed of his PlayStation game at Bayfair Station by three juvenile males. After a radio broadcast, a San Leandro officer detained the suspects in the neighborhood. BART officers arrested the suspects after the victim identified them. Two suspects were released to their parents and the primary suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall.
The victim of a strong arm robbery reported the incident to personnel at Bay Fair Station. The victim advised that the responsibles boarded an AC Transit bus that just left the station. The bus was followed by BPD officers who eventually stopped it and detained several juveniles, three of whom were identified by the victim as the responsibles in the theft of the latter's cell phone. The case was turned over to Alameda County Sheriffs.
