An officer observed a motorist driving the wrong way through the bus zone and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect refused to yield, and sped away from the station. The officer pursued the suspect vehicle and the vehicle crashed in the city of Hayward. The suspect tried running away, but the officer took him into custody. There were no passengers in the suspect vehicle, and the suspect only complained of minor neck pain. No one else was injured and the suspect vehicle was the only damaged property.
A male victim was walking toward the mall, approaching the pedestrian bridge, when he was confronted by four male juvenile suspects. One suspect was possibly holding a handgun. The suspects took the victim's ipod and fled toward the mall. The victim reported the crime at 2024 hrs.
A patron was confronted by an adult male in his 20's on the stairwell between the concourse and platform levels of the station. The suspect demanded the victim's high-priced tennis shoes, which the latter was wearing and also patted down the victim for money or other belongings of value. No loss. The station and trains were search with no results.
Two juveniles were robbed of their money and a cell phone on the BayFair Station Platform by three juvenile suspects. The suspects surrounded them and demanded the money and took the cell phone. One suspect is in custody. The other two were not located but were identified by the arrested suspect. Follow-up continuing.
A food vendor tried to retrieve items that were taken by four juvenile males at Bay Fair station. The suspects punched and kicked the vendor and fled the station. Officers searched the area with negative results. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. 0703-3677. L21.
Plainclothes officers were approached by an adult male who offered marijuana for sale. The subject was arrested and booked on said violation in addition to outstanding warrants for robbery, domestic violence, and resisting arrest.
San Leandro PD reported a strong arm robbery of an iPOD out of the Bay Fair shopping center. It was believed that the three suspects boarded a northbound train from the Bay Fair station. All three suspects were intercepted at the Coliseum station and the iPOD was recovered. The victim positively identified all three.
An adult male patron was walking through the parking lot when he was confronted by three male juvenile suspects. The suspects surrounded, then began battering the victim. One suspect removed contents from the victim's wallet, then tossed the wallet on the ground. The suspects fled and were GOA/UTL.
A citizen's cellphone was taken at the bus zone by several subjects in their mid to late teens. A search of a bus for the suspects resulted in the arrest of two adults and one juvenile for resisting arrest. One adult male was subdued by an assisting San Leandro PD officer with a Taser. All three were eventually booked. The victim could not identify the responsibles. The stolen cellphone was not recovered.
An 18 year old female was robbed of her purse, cash, and an iPOD at the bus stop. The suspects were described as four males, 15 to 20 years of age, all wearing hoodies (with hoods up over their heads). One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. All four fled on foot and were able to elude a search by BART PD units, San Leandro PD officers and Alameda County Sheriff's deputies.
A female patron was the victim of an armed robbery as she was making her way to the station from the west parking lot area. The incident occurred just outside of the parking lot, on or about Colby or Wagner Streets. The suspect, described as an adult male 18-19 yrs. of age, was armed with a handgun and fled into the residential area west of the parking lot. Unknown loss. Case turned over to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

One suspect punched the victim in the mouth and another suspect displayed a knife. The suspects took the victim's cash, fled toward Hesperian Blvd., and were GOA/UTL.
An officer observed a vehicle going against one-way traffic in the Bay Fair station lot. While attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the driver and passenger fled the vehicle, later determined to be stolen, and ran from the officer. Other responding officers were able to apprehend the juvenile male suspects nearby. The suspects were booked for auto theft at Alameda County Juvenile Hall. 0701-1451 L21.
Two officers patroling the parking lot at Bay Fair station found an adult male subject inside a parked vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. A semi-auto pistol was lying next to the victim. Paramedics were summoned and the victim was declared dead at the scene. The Alameda County Coroner's Office took custody of the deceased. Up to six male suspects in their 20's robbed an elderly male passenger of his bicycle while all were on board a train at BFS. The suspects fled the train with the bicycle. The report of the incident came by way of CHP/911 transfer.
A male juvenile was booked into juvenile hall after being charged with brandishing a knife and committing a battery on a patron. Five companions of the suspect (two males and three females) were all cited for disturbing the peace. The incident erupted when the victims, a husband and wife, voiced their objection to the suspects for using profanity in the presence of children. There were no injuries.
A suspect, who was reported as a suspicious person, was contacted at the Bayfair Station. The officer determined that the suspect was under the influence of drugs. Incident to arrest the officer located a "crack pipe" on the suspect's person. The suspect, booked at the Hayward Jail for the violations, is also being investigated as a suspect in a mayhem case in which he bit the ear off a Target store security guard in Hayward while engaged in a theft.
A patron's purse was stolen in a strongarm robbery that occurred in the west parking lot near the pedestrian tunnel. The victim was thrown to the ground as she attempted to maintain possession of her purse. The suspect, who fled the scene on foot, is described as an adult male in his 20's, med. height and build, wearing short hair, a black jacket and light brown pants.
Three juvenile females demanded money from a grandmother and her granddaughter while they were in front of the station. A struggle ensued, and the victims fled to a nearby bus for safety. No property was taken, and the three juvenile suspects were arrested and booked into juvenile hall.
