A female patron who claimed to have a problem with her eyesight walked off the platform and fell onto the track way. A patron who witnessed the incident assisted the injured woman back on the platform. The woman suffered non- life threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to a local hospital. The BART Police Officer who interviewed the woman determined she wasn’t a danger to herself.
A 26-year-old man punched another adult male in the bus zone. The suspect tried to walk away from the investigating officer, then resisted being handcuffed. The battery victim declined to press charges. The suspect was transported to the John George Psychiatric Pavilion for evaluation.
A sergeant on routine train patrol observed a male subject smoking on the platform and detained him for the violation. The male initially lied about his identity, but the investigation determined he was on active probation for a drug offense, with a search clause. The sergeant enforced the search clause and discovered a loaded Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum revolver concealed in the male's sock, under his pants. The male was taken into custody without incident and was booked at Santa Rita Jail for possession of a loaded & concealed firearm, providing false information to a peace officer and probation violation. He was also issued a citation for possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana and for the initial smoking violation.
A female called crisis support from the station and was incoherent, but mentioned a psychiatric hospital. Trains were briefly held out of the station until officers arrived. Officers contacted the female and determined that she was unable to care for herself. The female was transported to John George Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation.
Officers intercepted a train to investigate a report of a man hitting a woman. Witnesses came forward and identified the involved parties who were determined to have a dating relationship. The male suspect had struck the female victim during an argument. Both parties were juveniles and were released to their parents. The male suspect was cited for battery.
An adult male suspect knocked over a patron's bicycle and intentionally bent one of the wheels out of alignment by jumping on it damaging the bicycle. Officers responded and located the suspect nearby. The suspect was arrested and booked for vandalism.
Officers responded to a report of two males breaking into automobiles in the parking lot. San Leandro P.D. officers detained two subjects and the investigation later revealed that one of them was in possession of property stolen in an automobile burglary at the same station on the previous day. Both subjects were juveniles in the mid-teens. The subject with the stolen property was cited out to his guardian.
A male adult reported being robbed of his cell phone and $100 by a male juvenile in the parking lot near Grand Street. The suspect was gone upon the officer's arrival. A Hayward police officer detained a person matching the description near the station 20 minutes later, and the subject was positively identified by the victim as the robbery suspect. The suspect was arrested for robbery and booked at the juvenile hall in San Leandro. No injuries were reported. 1008-2945 L12.
The California Highway Patrol called to ask that our agency be on the look out for a suspect who had been seen earlier in a stolen vehicle. The suspect had reportedly boarded a Fremont bound train at the Berkeley Station. Officers searching for the adult male suspect located him at the Bay Fair Station and took him into custody. The suspect was then turned over to the CHP for booking.
Officers on patrol noticed a suspect walking through the parking lot who appeared to be intoxicated. The officers confirmed that the suspect was unable to care for his own safety and also discovered that the suspect was wanted on a $20,000 warrant for driving while intoxicated. The suspect was arrested and booked for the warrant.
A juvenile male reported that he was the victim of a theft while playing a "shell game" at the Bayfair station. The adult male suspect took money from the victim's hands and fled on a train. The train was intercepted and searched at the Coliseum station and a suspect was detained. The victim responded and positively identified the suspect and the monetary loss was recovered. The suspect is on parole for theft and gave a voluntary statement admitting involvement in a shell game. The suspect was booked for grand theft and a parole violation.
An officer on routine train patrol observed an adult male prying away a "no smoking" sign with a butterfly knife aboard a Fremont bound train. The officer detained the suspect and determined that he was also under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and unable to care for his own safety. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Santa Rita Jail for vandalism, possession of a butterfly knife and public intoxication.
An adult male detained for fare evasion was found to be on probation with a search clause. A search pursuant to the probationary clause revealed that he was in possession of heroin. The subject was arrested and booked accordingly.
Officers on-viewed an adult male smoking marijuana in the free area. A search subsequent to arrest revealed suspected "Ecstacy" packaged for sale in the suspect's possession. The subject was arrested and booked accordingly.
A male adult reported being robbed at knifepoint of $18.00 by a white male adult in the tunnel area at the station. The suspect fled in an unknown direction, and the victim did not sustain any injuries from the robbery. 1007-438 L12.
Officers responded to a report of two "kids" driving a car in the parking lot. Two juvenile males, age 11 and 12, were found in the car which was driven by the 12 year old. The car as determined to be stolen, the youths were arrested and later released to guardians on citations.
A male reported being beaten and robbed in the parking lot in front of the station by another male. The victim was treated by medical for injuries to the head. Loss was a cell phone and wallet. Suspect was not located.
A group of juveniles got into a heated verbal argument onboard an A/C Transit bus. The juveniles off-boarded in the bus zone at the station and the argument continued. The group separated. Shortly after, a vehicle drove through near the bus zone where the remainder of the juveniles were standing. Multiple shots were fired. One juvenile was struck and suffered non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
A male called police dispatch from a payphone at Bay Fair station. The caller said that he was "going to blow up the station." A K-9 swept the station for explosives with negative results. The caller was not located.
