A victim reported that their vehicle was burglarized while parked at the station between 1140-1950 hours. The passenger window was smashed to gain entry and a GPS unit, handicap placard, coat and checkbook were taken.
The female (juvenile) victim reported that a male (juvenile) suspect known to her forcibly took her iPhone and fled from the station. A sergeant and an officer responded, but were unable to readily locate the suspect. An attempt to track the phone was also unsuccessful. Further follow up investigation will be performed by the officer.
BART Police and medical personnel responded to the station regarding an adult who appeared in need of medical attention. Personnel administered life-saving aid, but the male was declared deceased. The male’s death does not appear to be the result of a crime.
An officer booked a male suspect at the Hayward Jail for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana for sale. The suspect's identity could not be confirmed, and the officer believed the suspect was providing a false name. The officer requested that the suspect's fingerprints be processed. Jail staff was able to discover the man's true identity through the fingerprint check, and learned that he had three outstanding arrest warrants from Washington, for murder, intimidating a witness and failure to register as a sex offender, held by Seattle PD and the King County Sheriff's Office. The man was booked at Santa Rita Jail for possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana for sale, providing false information to a peace officer, and his outstanding warrants.
The station agent saw a male suspect masturbating at the station and placed him under arrest for the violation. Officers took custody of the suspect, and learned he was also on active probation for a previous sexual offense. The suspect was then issued a prohibition order before booking him into the county for the listed offenses.
Officers working the robbery suppression detail were flagged down by a person reporting two individuals trying to break into a vehicle parked in the rear parking lot at the station. Officers responded and located a male and a female attempting to break into the vehicle. Officers detained the two subjects and were able to determine the vehicle was stolen out of San Francisco. The subjects admitted they got locked out of the vehicle and admitted they were sleeping in the vehicle for at least 24 hours. A records check revealed a court order retraining the male from being around the female. Both subjects were booked into Alameda County jail.
While on patrol, officer observed and detained a subject for fare evasion. A wants check revealed that the subject had a misdemeanor no bail warrant charging probation violation. The subject also had a second BART warrant for $20k charging narcotics violation. The subject was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for his warrants.
A victim reported that a male suspect (BM, 18 years, grey jacket, beanie) approached him and asked to use his phone. When the victim handed it over, the suspect thanked him for the phone, told him to give him the headphones too and threatened to beat him. The victim handed over the Beats headphones too and the suspect and a female accomplice (BF, red headband) left the area and were not located. The phone was not able to be tracked. Station video will be requested.
Officers detained a subject for riding his bike on the platform. The subject had two warrants for his arrest. Subject was cited for the infraction and booked at jail for his warrants. An officer took the report.
Two black male suspects punched a victim in the face and stole his gold necklace. The suspects were last seen running toward Bay Fair Mall. Officers responded, but could not locate the suspects in the area.
Officers detained a subject for creating a disturbance on the train. The subject had a stay away order from all BART and warrant for his arrest. The subject was booked at jail for the above violations. An officer took the report.
A female suspect detained for fare evasion by an officer was found to have an outstanding “no bail” misdemeanor/trespassing warrant, held by the Lake County (CA) Sherriff’s Office, for her arrest. The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrant, issued a citation for fare evasion, and then booked into the county jail.
Patrons reported that a male suspect was walking around on the platform and acting erratically. Officers contacted the man near the fare gates to check on his welfare. The man was uncooperative and combative. Officers were able to detain the man after a prolonged struggle. They determined that the man was in need of psychiatric care and he was transported to John George Hospital for treatment.
