A male suspect grabbed an iPhone from the hand of a female victim as the train doors were closing. The suspect fled from the train and ran out of the station to the street level. The victim was only able to describe the suspect as male, wearing a light colored beanie and a grey hooded sweatshirt. She was not injured during the incident. Officers were not able to locate the suspect.
hrs. The Operations Control Center reported that, according to a station agent, a man had been on the trackway, and was trying to return to the trackway. Trains were held out of the station and power was dropped. San Francisco police responded, detained the man, then turned him over to BART police officers. The subject was transported to California Pacific Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Trains were delayed for 9 minutes.
A female patron stated she boarded a northbound train at the Daly City station. While on the train, she was texting on her iPhone. When the train arrived at the 24th Street, a suspect snatched her phone and ran out of the train/station. The suspect is described as a black male, 30’s, 5-10, wearing a brown hat, dark green shirt and blue jeans. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect.
A male suspect snatched an iPhone from a female patron's hand while on a train as it approached the 24th Street Station. The suspect exited the station as the train doors opened in an unknown direction of flight. A search for the suspect upon the officer's arrival proved negative. The victim reported the crime at the Balboa Park Station. 1107-2288 L12.
BART Officers contacted a subject (W/M 36 yrs) at the station for fare evasion. When the suspect was ran for warrants they discovered he had a felony warrant for Drug Possession, and a misdemeanor warrant for Tampering w/ a Vehicle. Both of the warrants were out of San Francisco P.D. The suspect was arrested for the warrants and booked at S.F. Jail. The suspect was warned for the fare evasion violation.
A Daly City train was held at the station for a report of two subjects fighting. BARTPD and SFPD Officers responded to the scene. The two subjects were gone upon their arrival/Unable to locate. Trains were held for 17 minutes.
A female patron was standing on the platform holding her I-phone in one hand and reading an article about the I-phone in the other. A male wearing a gray hoodie was standing to the left of the female patron. The male snatched the phone from female patron's hand, and fled toward the 24th and Mission Street exit. The area was searched for the subject with negative results. The female patron cannot identify the suspect, and she was not injured.
The San Francisco Fire Department called BART PD dispatch to inform that they had received a medical call at the station and that they were performing CPR on a victim. Officers arrived and determined (through witness statements) that the male victim had collapsed while standing in the plaza area (street level). The male (60 years old) was pronounced deceased by medical staff at the scene. The coroner responded to take custody of the victim. The investigation is on-going, but at this time, the case does not appear to be criminal in nature.
The San Francisco Police Department requested to hold trains because they were searching for a female suspect with a gun. They completed their search prior to the arrival of BART Officers. The suspect was not located at the station. Trains were held for 5 minutes.
A female victim was on board a Daly City bound train arriving at 24th Street. The victim was playing a video game in her lap on her I-Phone. Just as the doors were closing a suspect grabbed the I-Phone from her and ran off of the train. The incident happened so quickly that the victim was unable to get much of a description other than slim and wearing neutral colors. She said the train left the station and she was unable to get off of the train to locate the suspect. The incident was reported at Glen Park Station.
An unknown suspect took an unattended backpack from inside the station agent's booth. The backpack contained personal items owned by the agent and a BART District portable radio. There are no leads and the suspect was not located.
Officers observed a suspect attempting to sell BART tickets to customers at the ticket vending machines in violation of the law. The suspect was known to the officers and has multiple contacts for similar offenses in San Francisco. When the officers attempted to detain the suspect, he resisted arrest and kicked one of the officers. The suspect was arrested and cited for the offenses as the suspect is not accepted at the local jail due to medical issues.
The station agent called to report an adult male suspect selling BART tickets at the ticket machines. Officers made contact with the suspect and determined that he was on probation and had a search clause. A search of his person revealed multiple altered BART tickets, tools used to make the altered tickets and narcotics. Multiple altered tickets were also recovered from the ticket machines. Detectives were called out to interview the suspect and conduct the investigation. The suspect was eventually booked at San Francisco County Jail for multiple violations related to the ticket fraud as well as narcotic possession violations.
A woman called BART police to report her son, who had an outstanding arrest warrant, was at 24th Street Station. Officers responded and located the male juvenile, who had an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for assault with a deadly weapon. The juvenile was arrested and booked at the Youth Guidance Center.
A adult female who was standing on the platform was punched by an adult male. The male and the female have a dating relationship and the female has an active restraining order against the male for a previous case of domestic violence. Both parties took a train to the Balboa Park Station where the female reported the crime. Officers responded and located the suspect nearby. The suspect was arrested and booked for domestic violence and a violation of the restraining order.
A female on board a Millbrae bound train reportedly discharged a fire extinguisher at patrons on the train. Responding officers later determined that the female, who suffered from multiple personality disorder and had not taken her medication, discharged the extinguisher at the train ceiling, rather than at patrons. The female was transported to St. Francis Hospital for an emergency psychiatric detention. There were no reports of injury. The Millbrae train was held approximately 19 minutes.
A patron was robbed of her cell phone while on a San Francisco train at 24th St. station. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a red and grey Polo shirt with stripes, forcibly took the phone and fled the train and station. A search of the area proved negative.
A female walking through the east street level plaza was grabbed from behind by one of two suspects as the other snatched her cell phone. The suspects, described as two black males, one 15 yrs. of age wearing a black hoodie, the other in his 20's wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans, fled the area in an unknown direction.
A patron on the platform was robbed of her cellular phone when two suspects approached her from behind with one punching her in the face and grabbing the phone. Both suspects fled the station in an unknown direction. The suspects were described as black males in their 20's with one wearing a light grey top and jeans, and the other having a dark complexion and wearing a black sweatshirt.
An adult female reported that an adult male was harassing her on the train. Officers detained the suspect and discovered that the suspect was wanted on a felony no bail warrant from the Department of Corrections. The suspect was arrested and booked.
An adult male detained for fare evasion was subsequently arrested and booked on an outstanding no-bail felony violation of probation warrant. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
A train operator reported some sort of explosion in the tunnel between 24th Street and 16 Street Stations. The operator saw a flash of some sort and then smelled smoke. SFFD responded and closed both stations for a short time while a track inspection was conducted. Once determined to be safe, service was restored after approximately 40 minutes. The flash appears to have been caused by undetermined arcing.
A 32-year-old man was arrested after trying to take a 5-month-old male baby from the child's 26-year-old mother. The man, a stranger to the mother, tried to pull a stroller containing the baby off of a Dublin train. A passenger intervened. The suspect was booked into the San Francisco jail.
An adult male detained for fare evasion was arrested and booked on an outstanding felony no-bail warrant for grand theft.
A passenger's purse was stolen while she fell asleep on the above-noted train. Loss included $20 cash and miscellaneous credit cards. Unknown suspect.
