A patron reported the theft of her black Euro women's road bike ($1000 value). The bike was secured to the bike racks with a cable lock and a Kryptonite lock on 7/17 at 0745 hours. When the victim returned at 1300 hours, the bike and locks were gone. Station video will be requested.
A victim reported his Giant B21 mountain bicycle was stolen while it was cable locked at the station between 1445-1700 hours.
A woman reported that a man snatched her iPhone out of her hand on the platform. The suspect escaped on foot through the station with her property. (suspect description: B-M, 20, 5-6, 130, long dreads , black baseball cap with red visor, black hooded sweatshirt with an unknown logo on it).
A sergeant, with the assistance of San Francisco police, arrested a man near the station, on a Calif. Dept. of Corrections parole-violation warrant. The suspect matched the description of someone who had been in a loud dispute with another man in the station. According to the station agent, someone had claimed that the suspect had a knife. The victim left before police arrived. No weapon was found. The suspect was booked into the San Francisco Jail.
A station agent reported that she last left her BART portable radio (GE – 300 Model) at the South Hayward Station on 5/31/13 and asked the on duty station agent there to secure it in the booth cabinet. The reporting station agent called a couple of weeks later and was told that the radio was no longer there. The station agent reported the loss to her supervisor. The radio serial number was entered into SPS. The OCC manager was notified.
A patron reported that her HTC phone was stolen by a suspect who bumped into her on the train and then removed the phone from the side pocket of her bag. The suspect off-boarded at 24th Street, but the victim continued on to San Bruno Station before reporting the theft. The suspect was described as an Asian or Hispanic male, about 33 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses and a black jacket. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect at 24th Street Station.
A person reported that his laptop and Samsung S3 cell phone were missing after having fallen asleep on a Pittsburg/Baypoint bound train near the station between 1500-1520 hours. No suspects were seen.
Two victims simultaneously had their cell phones taken from them while on a train at the station. While on duty, a CSO witnessed the victims chasing the suspects out of the station and flagged down a San Francisco Police unit for assistance. San Francisco Police detained two suspects matching the descriptions with the victims’ cell phones in their possession, and they were positively identified by the victims. No force was used and there were no injuries. The case was turned over to BART officers upon their arrival, and a sergeant and detective were notified and responded to the scene. One of the suspects began to hyperventilate, and had to be transported to San Francisco General Hospital where at written statement was taken from him. The suspect, who confessed to the crime but denied knowing the other suspect, was cited and released to his parents for theft. A warrant check on the other suspect revealed a no-bail arrest warrant out of Solano County for a domestic offense. That suspect refused to give a statement, was cited for theft, and was transported to Juvenile Hall on the warrant. Video hotline notified.
A victim made a telephone report that his $550.00 blue Marin Fairfax bicycle was stolen while it was parked and secured with a Kryptonite lock between 0830-1745 hours.
A patron reported that she was standing on the platform, next to a male when she believes he unzipped the pocket on her backpack and removed her iPhone. The victim said that she would not be able to identify him if she saw him again, but described him as a Black, 20’s, with long, straight hair and a ski cap. The investigating officer tried to track the phone, but it showed “offline.” Station video will be requested.
Train service was interrupted for 17 minutes because a man had entered the trackway at the north end of the station. BART police officers responded to search for the suspect. San Francisco police located the suspect and transported him from the scene for a psychiatric evaluation. TSOC was notified.
Officers witnessed a male suspect fare evade through the emergency gate to exit. The male was detained and a records/warrant check showed a 7,500 warrant (no cite) for a narcotics violation issued by San Mateo PD. The male was placed under arrest on the warrant and cited for the fare evasion. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the male. Subject was booked into San Francisco city jail.
A sergeant and officers responded to a report of a woman beneath Pittsburg/Bay Point train #381 at the station. San Francisco Fire Dept. (SFFD) Rescue #2 arrived at 2158 hrs. The first BART police officer arrived on scene at 2205 hrs. The sergeant and the other officers arrived at 2209 hrs. The 52-year-old female was removed from the track way by SFFD at 2209 hrs. It was determined that she had been lying between the running rails and the train had passed over her. She did not appear to be physically injured. The woman told the sergeant and an officer that she had jumped in front of the train. The train operator was interviewed and said that the woman had jumped in front of her train. Police personnel placed the woman under a 72-hour hold for a psychiatric evaluation. The woman was transported to San Francisco General Hospital to be examined for any possible physical injury, and for the psychiatric evaluation. 04/13/13 2028 hrs. A woman reported that someone reached into her left, front jacket pocket and stole her iPhone. The theft occurred on the platform. The victim did not see anyone take her iPhone, but felt a slight tug on her jacket before realizing that her property was missing. The victim suspects that a man standing near her took her phone. The suspect left before the investigating officer arrived. (suspect description: H-M, 20’s, 5-3, medium build, light complexion, waist-length black hair, black shirt, black track jacket with printing on the back, baggy blue jeans)
A person was reported as being under a Richmond bound train at the 12th St. Station. Officers, evidence technicians, detectives, paramedics, and operations personnel responded to the scene. Power was dropped on the northbound track, platform 3, but trains were able to run on platforms 1 and 2. ISRC video confirmed the victim jumped in front of the train, of his own volition, as the train pulled into the station. Medical personnel on scene confirmed the victim was deceased and the Coroner was notified. Platform 3 of the station resumed normal service at 1210 hours. TSOC notified.
A victim reported his black GMC Denali road bicycle was stolen while it was cable locked at the station between 0900-1500 hours.
A patron reported the theft of his single speed Schwinn bicycle. The bike was secured to the bike racks with a cable lock at 0830 hours and when the victim returned at 1127 hours, the bike was gone. Station video will be requested.
Officers detained an adult male for fare evasion. Record checks revealed that the man had an outstanding $30,000 arrest warrant for forgery held by the Alameda County Sheriff's Department. The man was arrested on his warrant and booked at the San Francisco County Jail.
A victim reported a man grabbed an iPhone 5 from him while they were on a Daly City bound train approaching the station. The suspect fled from the train in an unknown direction. There were no injuries and the victim could not positively identify the suspect.
A patron reported via phone that their Trek 7000 mountain bike had been stolen between 0730-2230 hours. The victim secured the bike to the racks using both a U-lock and a cable lock. When the victim returned, both the bike and the two locks were missing.
A victim reported an Apple iPhone 5 was taken from her while on a train at the station. The suspect ran off train and out of the station. No on was injured, and a search for the suspect by officers proved negative. Video hotline notified.

Officers were called to the station for a male suspect possibly selling BART tickets. Upon contacting the suspect, officers did not locate any tickets, but discovered that the suspect had a no bail warrant for possession of narcotics. The male was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for the warrant.

A canine officer was sweeping a train when he noticed a male asleep with his pants down. The officer conducted a welfare check and discovered that the male had a CDC warrant for theft. The male also did not have a BART ticket. After being debriefed by the sergeant regarding BART related crimes, the suspect was cited for fare evasion and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for the warrant.
