5-26-06 0423 A female patron's purse was forcefully taken off her shoulder as she was entering the 19th Street station via the escalator near 19th and Broadway. No weapon was involved. The patron was not injured, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. A search for the suspect proved negative.
In a late-reported case (occurred 0730 hrs.) a patron reported being the victim of a strong-arm robbery at the 20th St. end of the station. The suspect was described as an adult male in his 30's, wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans. Loss was cash and a BART ticket.
A woman had a necklace snatched from her person at the 20th St. end of the station. The suspect, an adult male, fled the area prior to the arrival of responding officers.
A 43-year-old man called from a payphone saying that he was feeling unsafe, "thinking about the third rail," and believed that people were chasing him. He was transported to the John George Psychiatric Pavilion for evaluation.
A BPD officer detained a female juvenile accused of stabbing another female twice in the leg. The suspect was turned over to the Oakland Police.
