A victim reported that a male suspect (Unknown race, 59", thin, black hoodie) tried to grab her cell phone as their Warm Springs bound train arrived at the 19th Street Station in Oakland. As he tried to flee the train, the victim was able to grab him and struggled with him to get the phone back. The victim was able to get the phone back and the suspect fled out of the station. The victim was not injured and the suspect was not located.

Officers contacted Hazik, who was positively identified by one of the witnesses. Hazik was transported and booked into Glenn Dyer Jail for Indecent Exposure. Hazik was issued a citation for fare evasion and a prohibition order.

A male suspect who was reportedly causing a disturbance earlier, entered a restricted construction zone at the station. A (male) BART supervisor approached and warned the suspect, who then spit in the supervisor’s face and charged him. In response, the supervisor defended himself by striking the suspect about the mouth, and then restrained him until police arrived and took him into custody. The suspect, who was determined to be a danger to himself and others, was transported to a local hospital for medical care as he sustained a lacerated lip; after being medically cleared, he will be transported to the county’s mental health facility for psychiatric evaluation/detention. The supervisor, who was not injured, placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest for battery; the suspect was also issued a BART prohibition order. Once cleared from the psychiatric evaluation, the suspect will be booked into the county jail.

A victim reported he was struggling with a male over his laptop when a second male (Austin Lashagway, 20 years, Lafayette) grabbed the laptop and fled. Lashaquway was located and detained, pending identification by the witnesses/victim. Officers discovered Lashagway's backpack contained a loaded revolver with the serial numbers filed off. Lashagway was positively identified and was booked into the Glenn Dyer Jail. He was issued a prohibition order. Case is under investigation.

Trespassing /Resisting Arrest

Officers detained a male subject for fare evasion. The male was contacted in the paid area of the station. He was cited for the violation. After being cited, the male then refused to leave the station’s paid area. After unsuccessful attempts to gain compliance from the male, physical force was used to remove the subject and he was eventually arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest. The male was subsequently booked into the Santa Rita Jail. There were no injuries reported during this incident. A sergeant responded to conduct the Use of Force Investigation. 1706-0010 L10/S53

The suspect was interfering with the station agent to the point where she wasn’t able to perform her job. Upon the arrival of officers, the suspect was pointed out by the agent and detained. After a records check, the agent placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest. The suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for trespassing, likely to continue.

The suspects then ran from the area and were not located. The computer could not be tracked. The victim was not injured. Video will be requested.
