A BART passenger reported a man on a train who was vandalizing seat cushions by cutting them with a knife and who was also brandishing the knife in a threatening manner. The suspect fled from the train at 19th Street station and was not located by officers who searched the area. There were no injuries and minor damage to a seat on a single train car.

Trespassing /Resisting Arrest

Officers detained a male subject for fare evasion. The male was contacted in the paid area of the station. He was cited for the violation. After being cited, the male then refused to leave the station’s paid area. After unsuccessful attempts to gain compliance from the male, physical force was used to remove the subject and he was eventually arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest. The male was subsequently booked into the Santa Rita Jail. There were no injuries reported during this incident. A sergeant responded to conduct the Use of Force Investigation. 1706-0010 L10/S53

The male victim reported that while aboard a San Francisco bound train at the station, two black males boarded the train and snatched the victim’s MacBook Pro from his lap. The suspects then fled from the station, but responding officers were unable to locate them; the victim was not injured during the theft. Officers were unable to track the laptop, but will request station/train video.

The on-duty station agent reported a Black male, 20’s, wearing a blue cap, blue hoodies and blue jeans, harassing patrons while asking for money. The suspect was interfering with the station agent to the point where she wasn’t able to perform her job. Upon the arrival of officers, the suspect was pointed out by the agent and detained. After a records check, the agent placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest. The suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for trespassing, likely to continue.

The suspect ran off of the train and as the victim tried to give chase, another male suspect (BM, 16-17 years, black hoodie, blue jeans) tried to trip the victim, but was unsuccessful. The suspects then ran from the area and were not located. The computer could not be tracked. The victim was not injured. Video will be requested.

Officers responded to the 19th Street station in regards to a dispatched call from an anonymous patron stating a male was being threatened by a female holding and waving a knife. Responding officers located the victim, and suspect on platform 1/3. The parties were engaged in an argument and the suspect was holding a 3.5 inch knife in her hand in the open position with the blade exposed. Officers took the suspect into custody at gunpoint and recovered the knife. Subsequently The suspect was issued a citation for 417(a)(1)P.C., given a prohibition order and taken to John George for psychiatric treatment. An officer took the report and a sergeant responded to conduct a use of force investigation.

Missing Juvenile / Domestic Violence / Contribute to the Delinquency of a Minor

Officers responded to a report of a fight on a train between a male and a female. On arrival the officers located witnesses and both suspects who were detained. The investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in a dating relationship and that the female suspect had battered the male. The female suspect was listed as a missing juvenile and was determined to be the dominant aggressor in the incident. The female was arrested and booked for battery and the suspect's parents were notified of the incident. Further investigation revealed that the male suspect was also contributing to the delinquency of the female minor, so he was cited and released for the violation. The female suspect was issued a prohibition order.

A female victim reported that while aboard a train a male suspect, whom she did not know, spat beer in her face after the two argued over the placement of feet on train car seats. Officers then detained the suspect, who claimed the victim had earlier struck his feet while aboard a train, without incident. The victim, who eventually declined medical attention, placed the suspect under citizen’s arrest for battery; while the suspect refused to pursue a similar complaint against the victim. After a warrants and criminal history check determined the suspect was clear of any wants, nor any violent criminal history, he was issued a citation for battery and a prohibition order before being released.

The suspect was on the platform, but stepped into the train to grab the phone and then left the train. The victim stayed on the train and reported the crime at the Embarcadero Station.
