Patrons reported that a male and female were fighting on the platform. The couple was in the company of a small child. Officers responded and detained both parties. They determined that the couple was married and that the physical fight had been mutual. The male suffered minor cuts to his wrist and the female was uninjured. The husband and wife were both arrested for domestic violence and child endangerment. A search of the wife incident to arrest revealed a quantiy of Hydrocodone on her person. The husband and wife were both booked at San Francisco County Jail for domestic violence, child endangerment and possession of narcotics (female). The child was transported to a relative's home for safekeeping.
The on duty Station Agent saw (via camera) a suspect walk into the track 2 bore toward Civic Center Station. Two BART Officers responded to the scene and apprehended the suspect between MP 9.32 and MP 9.34. The suspect was subsequently arrested for public intoxication and trespassing. The area was searched for any suspicious items, none were located. Trains were delayed for 41 minutes. A Sgt approved the arrest. The suspect was booked at the San Francisco County Jail. TSOC was notified.
A patron ascending on the escalator leading to the plaza had their iPhone taken out of their hand by a black male suspect wearing a beanie. The suspect was 5-‘9” tall and 200 pounds. The iPhone tracking was turned off. The suspect fled with the phone on foot in an unknown direction.
A warrant check on man detained for suspicious activity around the ticket machines in the free area revealed an outstanding $10,000 arrest warrant out of San Mateo County for narcotics. The subject was placed under arrest for the aforementioned warrant and two smaller arrest warrants totaling approximately $970.00. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.
A victim reported via phone that their iPhone 5 was snatched from their hand while they were on a Dublin bound train between 24th and 16th Street Stations, about 1515 hours. The suspect fled from the train when it arrived at 16th Street Station. The suspect was described only as a heavyset black male, wearing an unknown color hooded sweatshirt and a hat. The victim did not report the theft until they arrived home. The phone was not equipped with tracking.
A suspect was creating a disturbance in front of a ticket machine. A BART Officer responded to the scene and determined that the suspect was intoxicated in public. A Sgt approved the arrest and debriefed the suspect. The suspect was booked at the San Francisco County Jail without incident.
An unknown witness reported a victim was robbed at gunpoint of a white iPhone while on a Dublin/Pleasanton bound at the station. The suspect pointed a black handgun at the victim, grabbed her cell phone, then off-boarded the train and fled from the station. The victim off-boarded the train at the Powell Street Station to make the complaint. There were no injuries, and the phone was never located. Video hotline notified.
While on patrol, an officer detained a male subject for fare evasion. A wants check revealed that the subject had an outstanding misdemeanor $20,000 warrant issued from the SFPD charging theft. The suspect was arrested and booked into the SF County Jail for his warrant. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect.
A station agent reported a subject who fare evaded to enter the station and also harassing other patrons. Officers responded and later located the subject in question on the plaza level (street) of the station. During the investigative detention, officers found that the suspect was in plain view possession of a suspected “crack” pipe and a small amount of suspected “crack” cocaine. The San Francisco County Jail refused the subject for booking for pre-existing medical reasons. At the time of this posting, the suspect is to be booked at the San Francisco County Jail for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia once he is medically cleared.
ComSpec personnel monitoring the CCTV cameras reported seeing several suspects fighting on the platform. Responding officers detained three adult suspects. Their investigation determined that a male and female couple was fighting with a third male suspect. There were no independent witnesses to establish the primary aggressor and the parties made cross-complaints. All three suspects were issued citations for battery on a transit passenger, All three were also issued prohibition orders and left the system.
A victim reported that they locked their bicycle (a silver Schwinn 18 speed road bike, unknown serial number) to the paid area bike racks on 08/17/13, at 1600 hours. The bicycle was secured with cable combination lock. The victim returned today at 1230 hours to find their bicycle gone. The estimated value of the bike is $250.
BART Officers checked on the welfare of an individual. The person exhibited the objective signs of being intoxicated. He was arrested for being intoxicated in public. A Sgt approved the arrest. The individual was booked at the San Francisco County Jail without incident.
While being detained for fare evasion, a man became resistive and had to be placed into handcuffs after a physical struggle. Prior to the altercation, the suspect slapped the officer's hand. There were no injuries, and the subject was cited for fare evasion and placed into custody for resisting arrest. A sergeant arrived at the scene to approve the arrest and debrief the suspect. The suspect was issued a 30 day BART prohibition order. Due to having an asthma attack, the subject needed medical attention and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital prior to booking.
Officers responded to the station for a report of two subjects fighting in the plaza area. Once officers arrived, they determined that it was actually a strong arm robbery. The victim reported that he was at the station to buy drugs and was counting his cash in the plaza area when an unknown suspect approached and tried to take his cash. The suspect reportedly punched the victim in the face multiple times when the victim struggled to maintain his cash. The victim was able to retain his cash and the suspect fled on foot northbound on 16th St. towards South Van Ness. The victim sustained bruising and bleeding on his face and was transported to SF General Hospital for his injuries. Officers searched the area for the suspect with negative results. SFPD was also advised of the suspect description. (Suspect description: Black male, 20-25 years old, stocky or chubby build, wearing a green polo shift.) The investigating officer will be requesting station video.
A station agent reported that a subject was aggressively panhandling inside the station. A sergeant contacted the subject who was discovered to have an active stay away order. The subject was arrested and booked into the SF County Jail for violating the stay away order.
Officers made a consensual contact of an individual inside the station. The subject was found to have a felony probation violation warrant for his arrest issued from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. The subject was taken into custody without incident and booked into the SF County Jail for his warrant. A sergeant responded to debrief the suspect and approve the arrest.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a dispute between a BART system-service worker and a BART foreworker. Upon arrival, the officers spoke to the involved employees. The system-service worker said that, at approximately 1710 hrs., the foreworker poked him in the chest, 3-4 times, with two extended fingers. This occurred during an argument in room 101, with no witnesses present. The foreworker denied having touched the system-service worker. The system-service worker said that he was not injured, but wants the foreworker prosecuted for battery. An officer told both parties that he would prepare a police report and forward it to the distict-attorney’s office for review. A sergeant informed a BART manager of the situation. The manager responded to the scene and met with both employees.
The BART station agent reported two males engaged in sexual activity near the BART elevator. One of the subjects was exposed and was described as a Black male, heavy set, wearing a multi-colored scarf and shirt with cargo shorts. Officers responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspects.
San Francisco Police received a report that a stabbing had just occurred at a restaurant near the 16th Street station. San Francisco Police chased a suspect into the station and confronted him on the platform. After pepper spray was unsuccessful in subduing the suspect, a bean bag round was fired and the suspect was taken into custody. Trains were delayed for approximately 15 minutes while officers attempted to locate the weapon and witnesses. No one was injured, although a San Francisco officer had his eyes washed out due to the blow back from the pepper spray being used. A BART police sergeant and several of our officers arrived at the scene to assist SFPD. Video recovery notified.
A victim reported an iPhone 5 was taken out of her hand by a man who was sitting behind her while on a train approaching the station. The suspect fled from the train and out of the station. There were no injuries and the phone did not have a tracking device. Video hotline notified.
A female reported the theft of her green Schwinn 21-speed bicycle. The bike was secured to the bike rack with a cable lock on at 1145 hours. When the victim returned at 1413 hours, the bike and lock were gone. Video will be requested.
An anonymous person called to report a male on board the train with a machete. When questioned by the dispatcher, the reporting party said the male was holding the machete above his head and threatening people on the train. No other calls were received, but the train was held at the 16th/Mission Street Station and SFPD was notified. SFPD officers arrived at the station and contacted a male on the train matching the description. The male was in possession of a large knife in a sheath, but was not creating a disturbance. SFPD Officers said that no one on the train was willing to make a complaint or said that he was creating a disturbance. BART officers took custody of the detained male and determined that he was intoxicated in public. The knife was taken for safekeeping and the male was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for public intoxication. Train car video has been requested. The original reporting party's phone number is answered by a fax machine, so he was unable to be reached. The train was held for approximately 13 minutes. TSOC was notified.
A patron reported the theft of his red Performance Hybrid 21-speed bicycle. The bike was locked to the bike rack with a chain and lock on 5/22 at 1700 hours. When the victim returned at 0640 hours on 5/23, the bike and lock were gone.
Multiple reports came into the ISRC about a naked man in the station harassing customers. The subject was chasing after a female and other patrons in the station. He was seen on the camera doing flips, and hand stands on the fare gates. When the BART System Service worker when to get patrons away from the subject he chased after the employee kicking and pushing him several times. The subject then grabbed on to an elderly female and pushed her causing injury to her lower back. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest by the responding officers. The subject was transported to the San Francisco General Hospital for observation. He will be booked at the jail for battery on a transit passenger and for battery on a transit employee. Both victims provided statements and completed the process for the citizen’s arrest. OCC was notified of the incident. Video was also requested of the incident by the investigating officer. The sergeant responded to the scene to approve the arrest.
The station agent called to report that an adult male had spat at him, threatened him and took a swing at him after he told the male to stop trying to sell tickets in the station. Officers arrived and located the male suspect in the plaza (street level). The agent identified him as the responsible person and placed him under citizen's arrest. The male was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for assault on a transit employee, making criminal threats and selling without a permit.
