Public Intoxication Arrest (Use of Force)

March 3, 2016, 5:52 p.m.

Daly City
Case: 1603-0071

A female suspect detained by an officer for reportedly being inebriated, while also walking in and out of traffic in the station’s bus zone, was determined to be too intoxicated to care for herself. As the officer prepared to arrest her for public intoxication, however, the suspect resisted the officer’s efforts. The officer then used force to overcome the suspect’s resistance and handcuffed her; neither was injured. A sergeant responded to perform the use of force investigation. The suspect was then booked into the county jail for public intoxication.
