Petty Theft / Battery

Feb. 19, 2012, 9:48 a.m.

Montgomery St.
Case: 1202-2675

A Peet’s Coffee employee from the store located in the station reported a female suspect took $5.00 from a ticket vendor, which belonged to a male patron.  The Peet’s employee recognized the suspect (by name) as a regular public nuisance at the station and attempted to get the money back; and was subsequently battered by the suspect.  The suspect exited the station to street-level.  The battery victim was not injured.  Officers conducted an area search for the suspect with negative results.  The theft victim did not want to pursue a complaint, but the Peet’s employee did want to pursue battery complaint against the suspect.  The officers put together a six-pack photo line-up and the battery victim positively identified the suspect.  Charges will be sought against the suspect, who has more than 100 documented contacts on file, most of which are for public nuisance violations in Zone 4.
