Domestic Battery / Psychiatric Detention

Officers responded to the station on a report an altercation between a male and female whom appeared to be together.  The couple also had their baby with them and the male was attempting to take possession of the baby.  The station System Service worker witnessed the male push the female on two occasions.  The couple left the station together and the officer’s contacted them near SF City College.  The station System Service responded and identified the male suspect and female victim.  The male suspect was arrested for domestic violence.  The male suspect claimed to have a week-old bullet wound to his stomach and was also feeling suicidal, as he stated he was off his medication.  Medical was summoned and they transported the suspect to SF General with an officer escort.  After being checked out medically for the wound, the suspect will be transported to the adjacent ward for psychiatric evaluation.  After being cleared on the psychiatric detention, the suspect is to be arrested and booked for domestic violence, and child endangerment.
