BART Police received initial reports that a male had battered a passenger with a firearm, aboard a Fremont bound train. Officers responded to the station to search for the suspect. As a safety precaution because a firearm was involved, the station was closed and trains were held out. The suspect was located on the Fremont train and was taken into custody. The report of a battery was not substantiated; however the female witness positively identified the male and reported he was carrying a firearm. A systematic search of the train, station and trackway was conducted but a firearm was not located. A records check revealed the male has a “no bail” warrant held by ACSO for a traffic offense and he was booked at Glenn Dyer jail. The station was opened and normal train service resumed after a 36 minute delay. Station and train video was requested. TSOC Notified.
