Concord
Case: 1607-0156

A patron reported that a black male, 30-40 years old, holding a half empty bottle of liquor, was apparently passed out and unresponsive on platform #2. Officers responded to check on the man's welfare and found that he was in possession of an open container of alcohol. Officers attempted to determine whether the man was able to care for himself, but the man became combative. A lengthy struggle ensued on the platform and trains were held out for safety. The suspect continued to struggle with four officers, and was ultimately placed in the WRAP device to control him. The man was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest, and he was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility. Trains were delayed about 13 minutes as a result of this incident.
