BART Officers responded to Balboa Park Station concerning a victim of a theft on a Daly City bound train who was following the suspect (BMA, 6'4"  185  31yo).  San Francisco Police Officers detained the suspect on nearby Ocean Avenue.  The suspect resisted and battered two SFPD Officers.  The adult male victim reported that he was on the above train when he saw the suspect in a verbal altercation with another patron.  He said the suspect then unexpectedly walked up to the victim, yelled at him, and forcibly snatched an electronic book – Kindle from the victim’s hands.  The victim said he was too scared to follow the suspect on the train.  The suspect later walked back to the victim and threw the Kindle at the victim’s head.  The victim followed the suspect off the train when it stopped at Balboa Park.  A BART Police Detective responded and took a statement from the suspect who was subsequently booked at the San Francisco Jail for robbery, and battery on a patron and on peace officers.  A stay-away order will be sought for the suspect.
