San Francisco police dispatch reported receiving a cell phone call from an anonymous male claiming to be a BART patron. The caller said that prior to off-boarding a Dublin train at Civic Center station, he overheard two men talking about detonating a bomb at the A’s game. The caller said that the men had a briefcase with them that he believed might contain explosives. That train had already passed Coliseum station by the time the ISRC/BART PD dispatch received the information. A BART police dispatcher confirmed with Coliseum security and Oakland police that they were aware of this report. At the request of Oakland police, a BART police officer responded to the Coliseum to do a bomb sweep of the area around gate D. Nothing unusual was located.
