May 13, 2017, 3:48 p.m.

West Oakland
Case: 1705-0822

Officers detained a male suspect for reportedly acting violent aboard a train. The officers determined the suspect was intoxicated, and learned of an outstanding $10K drug warrant for his arrest. The suspect was then placed under arrest for public intoxication and the warrant, but then physically resisted the officers who used force and the WRAP restraint to eventually control him. While preparing to book the suspect into the county jail, jail staff required the suspect’s medical clearance for a pre-existing medical condition. Once medically cleared, the suspect’s booking will be completed. A sergeant responded to perform the use of force investigation.
