Union City
Case: 1301-3989

An anonymous person reported overhearing two males talking about robbing someone in the parking lot of the station.  As officers responded to investigate further, approximately eight minutes after the initial call, police dispatch received a call of a robbery having just occurred at the station.  The female victim was reportedly attacked by two male suspects, who beat the victim and took her purse before fleeing in a vehicle.  Shortly after fleeing the scene, the suspects were stopped by a Union City Police Officer for speeding, and were soon determined to match the descriptions of the robbery suspects.  A BART Officer transported the victim to the scene of the traffic stop, and she positively identified the suspects as the individuals responsible for her robbery.  The victim’s property was also recovered from the suspects’ vehicle.  The victim sustained injuries as a result of the beating during the robbery, but declined medical attention at the scene.  A sergeant responded to scene and approved the arrests.  A detective was called-in and interviewed the suspects.  Both suspects were booked at Santa Rita Jail for robbery and battery with serious injuries.
