Hayward
Case: 1507-1936

An adult male detained by an officer for fare evasion, failed to provide satisfactory identification and was detained in handcuffs. Further investigation by the officer determined the suspect’s true identity, which in turn revealed an outstanding $10K felony theft and false identity warrant, held by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, for his arrest; he was also found to be on probation for theft. The suspect was then placed under arrest for the warrant, and a search his property incident to the arrest revealed he was in possession of suspected methamphetamine and an expandable baton. A sergeant responded to approve the arrest and perform the post-arrest debrief. The suspect was then booked into the county jail for the warrant, possessing the narcotic and baton, violating the terms of his probation and for falsely identifying himself to the officer.
